Mike Germano Bio

Mike Germano is co-founder and President of Carrot Creative, a new media agency located in DUMBO, NY or as he calls it, Manhattan’s “Digital District”. Through his work at Carrot Creative, Mike has been able to provide his expertise to leading brands such as MLB.com, The Onion, MTV and Unilever providing strategic insight on how these companies can enhance their social media presence and online identity.

When it comes to sports and social media, Mike and the team at Carrot Creative have worked on some of the top brands and teams in the league. Development work includes building apps for MLB.com and developing InfieldParking.com, a driver-owned social network for NASCAR fans. Carrot has also consulted the NFL and NBA on social media
and works with players regularly on leveraging social media for their personal brands. Most recently, Carrot facilitated David Ortiz’s entrance into the social web and is about to launch KingOfHorse.com, Kevin Love’s video site where fans are challenged to match his trick shots via YouTube.

Carrot Creative signed a strategic partnership with Weber Shandwick, one of the largest PR firms in the world. Through this partnership, Mike and his team consult on strategy and creative development in all emerging and social web technologies.

In addition to his work at Carrot, Mike has a strong history in the startup community having created and launched several Web 2.0 startups including The Lotto, the first social lottery application and Teach the People a 2008 TechCrunch 40 finalist. He is nationally recognized for his innovative approach of “Word of Mouse” marketing that has taken over the current media landscape of spreading news virally via the web and prides himself on his constant engagement with the online community to seed further ideas.

Mike has been a speaker at multiple events across the country including OMMA Social in New York, Quinnipiac University’s 6th annual Athlete Development Summit, The IDI Marketers Forum and Social Media 2007 in Chicago & The Web Community Conference in Seattle. Mike’s most impressive achievement was his ability to use the Internet and social media in his political campaign in 2006 where he become one of the youngest elected officials in the nation.
