Nearly 7,000 athletes from 180 countries are in Athens for what is the biggest international, multi-sport event in the world in 2011. The Games not only serve as spirited competition amongst talented athletes, but a vehicle for positive change and unity among all people.

We heard from Patrick today and he let us know that the protests and riots going on in Athens due to the economic and political turmoil are relegated to isolated areas and are away from the Sports venues. Everyone involved with the Games has been safe.
