Just in time for all-star weekend, in an instance where “Elf Yourself” meets NBA Jam, Subway launched SubwayDunkFresh.com starring Clipper Blake Griffin in the lead up to All-Star weekend.
The app allows you to choose from ANY of five Griffin dunks, upload your photo on Blake’s body and create a video of yourself throwing down one of his monster jams.
The hometown rookie is garnering a ton of hype as the first player ever to compete in the Rookie-Soph game, dunk contest and All-Star game in the same weekend. The timing is perfect and the platform is innovative in the sports space.
Oh yeah, and Blake just won said dunk contest.
Disclosure: Don works on the PR team that created the app.
On Friday on Bloomberg TV, BwB3 speaker Michele Steele teased the release by Blaking herself in a story about Subway’s massive ad roll-out around Blake during the All-Star weekend, but also, Nike’s decision not to use Griffin in any significant way.
