Joining every social network she could in a span of 6 months and reading and engaging with blogs and other social communities including Twitter, Flickr, YouTube, Clipmarks, Delicious, Second Life, etc., Julia Roy wanted to figure out how people engage in these sites and how companies and brands could participate and add to these communities.
Her research subsequently resulted in her landing the position of Social Media Coordinator/Senior Agent of Social Life⢠at Undercurrent, a New York City digital think tank, and among other things, nearly 27,000 Twitter followers.
Julia, who will be among the panelists at the June 13th inaugural event, is also the Creator/Host of Tweet Week, a weekly vlog about Twitter. Additionally, she is among the most transparent personalities on the web, as evidenced by her latest video, 1+ Years of Photos Taken at Undercurrent.

Over 1 year of photos taken with my MacBook iSight from my desk at the Undercurrent office.
Music “Balloon” by Waking Rothko. Waking Rothko was Aaron Dignan’s band. Aaron is the co-founder of Undercurrent. How appropriate… right?!

So your evidence that she is “more than a pretty face” is a 2 1/2 minute slide of pictures that she took of herself?
Steve, Steve, Steve (who the hell are you Steve?)
Seriously – spend 2 minutes talking with Julia and you’ll find out she’s way more than just a pretty face – or, I guess, go see her speak. It becomes evident pretty quickly.
Fairly certain the slideshow is proof that she’s ‘transparent online’ not intended to prove anything else.
Seriously? 2 minutes. It doesn’t take a lot longer than that – Julia’s articulate, passionate, and intelligent. You’ll see.
